BIOGRAPHY

Teresa Freeborn joined Xceed Federal Credit Union (XFCU) on September 25, 2006 as President and Chief Executive Officer. Freeborn oversees all aspects of the credit union’s operations and represents XFCU globally. With fourteen branches in seven states, XFCU currently serves over 70,000 members with $755 million in assets.

Freeborn brings more than 30 years of credit union experience across the breadth of the credit union system. Before joining XFCU, Teresa was a key member of Kinecta Federal Credit Union’s executive staff serving as Senior Vice President of Marketing & Communications as well as President of Kinecta Financial and Insurance Services. Prior to moving to the United States from Canada, Freeborn held the position of Vice President, Services & Communications at Credit Union Central of British Columbia.

Freeborn is an active advocate in the credit union movement. She is a member of the California Credit Union League’s Public Advocacy Task Force, a member of the inaugural Filene Research Institute’s i3 Group, and a board member and past chair of the Credit Union Executive Society (CUES) Southern California/Arizona Council. She was the recipient of CUES first-ever Future Leader Award in 2005 and was selected their Marketing Professional of the Year in 2002.

A native of Vancouver, British Columbia, Freeborn holds an MBA from Simon Fraser and currently resides in Redondo Beach, CA.
