Spring Savings Tips

With spring in full swing, April is a great time to look around your home—and your budget—for ways to dial back on your spending.

We’ve rounded up a few of our favorite tips for trimming your budget and saving on future expenses.

  1. Dial back your thermostat. Across most of the country, the weather is trending warmer which means now is a great time to turn the heat down or even off if it’s warm enough! Opening your windows and airing out your home is also a great way to get a jumpstart on spring cleaning.
  2. Buy fresh fruits and veggies. Farmers markets are a great place to pick up in-season produce at a discount and add some color to your meals. It’s also a great opportunity to make healthier choices, leading to potential long term savings on your healthcare!
  3. Shop the sales. If you’re an avid snowboarder or skier in need of new gear, now is the perfect time to shop for next year! Instead of waiting for next winter when equipment and clothing will be at full price, look for sales at your favorite retailers, or to pick up gently-used pieces from friends or neighbors.
